1.教學目標
1. Develop a deeper understanding and multi-faceted perspective of global cultures. 2. Explore, analyze, and present group responses to the weekly topics. 3. Develop critical reading and thinking skills. 4. Appreciate the major themes in the textbook and diverse cultures. 5. Familiarize yourself with and utilize weekly vocabulary during class presentations. 
2.教學綱要
English (I) is a course for freshmen designed to help students read and analyze cultures around the globe while expanding their vocabulary. In this class, participants will examine values and attitudes toward different cultures through weekly topics. Students will study how culture is represented by reading and sharing their thoughts on the wide spectrum of topics provided by the textbook.

6.成績評定及課堂要求
Attendance, quizzes, class participation, and presentation: 40%; Midterm: 30%; Final exam: 30%; 
All work must be completed to pass the course. Late work will not be graded unless prior arrangements have been made. Students must bring their textbooks to every class.
